Late Farrah Fawcett nominated for Emmy
BEIJING, July 18 (Xinhuanet) — Actress Farrah Fawcett was posthumously nominated for an Emmy award on Thursday, according to media reports.
The late actress’ documentary, “Farrah’s Story”, that chronicled her battle with a rare cancer has been nominated for an Emmy for outstanding nonfiction special.
Farrah Fawcett had been previously nominated an Emmy for three times in her career for acting in The Burning Bed (1984), Small Sacrifices (1989) and The Guardian (2004), but never won. She did not live to see this nomination be announced.
Farrah’s long-term partner Ryan O’Neal said: “I know that she is smiling that fabulous smile right now in heaven, and that she is grateful the show has been so well received not only by her peers in the industry but by the public at large.”
Farrah Fawcett died of cancer at 62 on June 25th, 2009.
